Auction - Signed Duran Duran Guitar for Jimi's Angels Dog Rescue June 6th, 2014 This amazing piece of memorabilia was donated for auction to help Jimi's Angels Dog Rescue continue to save lives by contributing to the medical needs of discarded dogs. Bark n' Bitches retail & Jimi's Angels Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters, the city streets and owners who can no longer care for them. These high kill shelters are in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties where the euthanasia rate can be as high as 85%. Many were never taken to the shelter by their owners... they were picked up on the streets as strays by the shelter system. Sadly, many of these pups were on the list to be euthanized. You will be bidding on a Taylor acoustic guitar lovingly signed and decorated by Duran Duran. Each band member has drawn an image of their own personal dogs to raise awareness and help to raise money for the abandoned and discarded dogs taken in by us. This guitar was signed at the studio in London where they are working on their next album and shipped to in Los Angeles for auction. You will never ever have the opportunity to own such a unique piece of memorabilia signed and created by Simon LeBon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes. An 8×10 black and white and an 8×10 colour photo included will provide the authenticity of this piece! (Auction ends Jun 13, 2014 08:53:00 PDT) Click link to see the guitar LINK

Wow, it's great that they did that, but WOW... the price! I know it's to help dogs and everything, but a raffle system would have been nicer. Not everyone could afford to bid on something like that. The bidding started at $999, and the shipping cost is $75? ?

I haven't priced guitars in a long time, so I don't know about the guitar itself. I wish I could have seen more of the case, I can't tell if it's top of the line or not. $75 for shipping is definitely steep.
I wonder who will bid on it. I do hope it's someone that can actually play a guitar. I hate seeing stuff go to people that can't appreciate it.

If it was a bass, and it was a raffle type of thing, I'd buy tickets for it. I had a used bass a few years ago, but never learned how to play it, so I sold it when my Mom wanted to move to Kentucky and we needed money for a moving truck.

With the drawings on it I'd cover the front with a few layers of clear coat.
If any of the guitarists or John were to donate one of their actual stage guitars the Duranies would sell their souls for it.

Oh GOD yes, are you kidding? They'd second mortgage (or in some cases, third, fourth, fifth, etc) their homes to buy that!

I'd even give it serious consideration. I wouldn't actually buy anything, I don't have free cash for it, but I would think about it.
