After the Rosklide Festival in 2005, apparently according to that article, Andy felt they should do more of those types of gigs, but according to him "there was pressure to try to recreate the old formula. It's not what I wanted, and when I realize the layers were beginning to peel off it became clear I had to move on."
So he wanted was to not sound like the old Duran Duran? What was he wanting to sound like then? I loved him in the Power Station, if DD could've made music sound more like their old stuff, his talents wouldn't have been wasted.

RCM sure as hell wasn't the old sound. Maybe he means the whole glamorous globetrotting playboy pop image. He hated that. Nick loves it.

Eventually you have to grow up and realize who you really are. DD is never going to be as popular as they were in the 80's, they need to face it and stay true to their music and their fans instead of trying to chase dreams of being pop superstars again.

Interesting. I like how this article didn't bother to delve into all the nitty-gritty details and try to sort through who was right or wrong, but instead, just focused on him and his style. It's also refreshing that he didn't get into it, either, and instead, just was like, "Yeah the record company wanted us to be like that."
