From Goldminemag.com:
SXSW 2011: Duran Duran Is Living In the ‘Now’ Posted on 18 March 2011.
Duran Duran fans still hoping guitarist Andy Taylor will once again return to the lineup should forget about it.
During the band’s SXSW interview March 17 with John Norris, singer Simon LeBon stated that Taylor has “a dark side” that makes it difficult to work with him. And drummer Roger Taylor likened the guitarist’s departure to when a star player leaves a sports team – those who remain pick up the pieces and move forward.
LeBon, Roger Taylor, bassist John Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes really like the path they’ve followed with the Mark Ronson-produced “All You Need Is Now” (due March 22), the second album since Andy Taylor’s second departure. Duran Duran has already made a video for the title track, and Rhodes said there are plans to make videos for other songs.
That inevitably led to some comments about MTV and its glory days as a video music channel. Rhodes recalled when MTV was “much more loose” and aired “true maverick TV programming” before succumbing to a play list, while John Taylor said he constantly meets people who say their lives were changed by MTV’s early years.
The band also said it is looking forward to working with David Lynch, who will direct Duran Duran’s March 23 performance at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles as part of the American Express Unstaged concert series.

A dark side? Difficult to work with him? Really Simon? What, because he has his own brains and knows what real DD fans want from our band? It's just so terrible how Andy's dark side refused to put out shitty songs like you are doing now, and refused to sell out to Sony.
If that's the dark side, I"ll join him.

Who the hell is David Lynch, and why do they need someone to "direct" their concert??? You'd think after all these years, they'd know what the hell they are doing onstage.

got news for simon:::: everybody has a dark side! it's what makes humans, human.
although, i must admit that i'm quite shocked that nick is the arrogant one!
it seems that over the years, in many interviews where andy's name comes up, the remaining band members try to make andy sound like the problem child and as if he was the arrogant one.
what was, and seems like still is wrong with all of them, is ego.

I always thought Nick was the PIA (pain in the ass). They just blame Andy for things that have nothing to do with him, because he's an easy scapegoat now that he's not in the band.
You'd think that with John's drug and bankruptcy issues, and at one point that Nick and Simon were the only 2 DD members left, they would have realized that the FANS are the ones who make them and break them.

If only they'd hire all of us as advisors, and fire that stupid Katy. We'd do a whole lot better for them than she does.
