I swear I've seen this one before and not too long ago - maybe within the past year:
Decade Cover, Coming Together
January 15th, 2014
I was looking at the cover of DECADE album and seem to recognize the picture of Simon, which is from a shoot by Guido Harari; the picture of Nick is from a Virginia Liberatore session, but I don’t recall where John’s one s taken from; can you be so kind to help me please. Thanx, Cami
“Hi Cami, No one seems to remember who took the John photo, unfortunately. You are absolutely right about my photo being taken by Virginia Liberatore. In the end, we simply gave the designer, Stephen Sprouse a large selection of photos and he chose the photographs he wanted to use for the cover artwork. They are all from different places, but somehow his vivid styling glued everything together. Definitely one of my personal favorites of our album covers. Nick”

Duran Duran Cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” – Ever?
January 30th, 2014
Hi guys! Hope everything is going great on DD #14. I have a question on cover songs.
I was recently listening to David Bowie’s “Heroes”. I know Bowie was a major influence on the band, and they have covered Bowie’s “Fame” and “Diamond Dogs” among others. I was just wondering if they had ever considered covering “Heroes” as well. I know Simon would do a fantastic job on vocals, and the rest of the band could really rock this one out. Keep up the great work, and I’m anxiously awaiting the new album. Thanks, Tom Nolan
“According to the band, since they feel that they’ve certainly covered more David Bowie songs than those of any other artist, including “Boys Keep Swinging,” “Fame,” “Diamond Dogs” and “Rebel Rebel” (in some live shows), it isn’t very likely. The band aren’t sure they’d dare touch “Heroes” as they feel it really is perfect as far as songs go, though Nick says he saw Blondie play it while in concert many years ago and, to his memory, it was a great version. Katy”
I remember well when the Heroes video was first released - Bowie was dressed in WW2 German fashion - minus the swastikas, but clearly he was doing the song as from the point of view of a Hitler Youth right before the fall of Berlin. I got it, I can understand how a nice pariotic German kid would feel during those days - not that I accept it, but I get Bowie's empathy. Those poor stupid kids thought they were doing the right thing. The video was so controversial that it was pulled from MTV within 24 hours and replaced with a much altered version. The original video showed up one time on Youtube and within days the poster's account was suspended. Duran Duran won't ever cover this song. No way.
