It amazes me how badly these corporations want to get in front of our eyes. You'd think very little would be shocking anymore.
And in the online realm, You surf on a product one time, now you get ads for it.

I needed to make cookies to get ready for my boy going back to school this week. Will be packing them in lunches. Making homemade waffles and freezing them for rethaw in the toaster for breakfasts too.

Good idea with the waffles!
Kids here aren't allowed to pack their lunches without sending a note to the school. Weird. When Granddaughter's tonsils flared up, I had to make arrangements to send in soft food for her.
I should make cookies sometime. Not this week, though.

Made cookies, waffles, and now we've gotten a few more inches of rain! I'm hoping there's no school tomorrow for the kids that didn't have to go today (grades 7 and 8). There are kids that have been stuck in the schools here until the flooded roads go down enough for the buses to run. That must stink, being stuck in school that long. Can you imagine how the little kids would be feeling? I don't care if I had to get a damn boat, I'd be getting my child out of there!

Wow. I knew you were getting too much rain, but I didn't realize it was that bad. Some of the kids might be safer at the school, if it's more than one story high. At least the National Guard can reach them more easily there. I think it's supposed to rain for three more days.

We got over 5 inches of rain between late Tuesday night and Wednesday. I knew when I drove into town on Wednesday the creeks were flooding, and the rain was pouring down. I would've gotten my child out of school, I don't care if it was the first fucking day or not. My child's safety is more important than a school day.
So, between this TS Lee rain and the Irene rain, we got a total of 17.5 inches of rain in less than 2 weeks. I'm SICK of rain now.

I feel your pain. We're doing great here, the backyard isn't even a lake like we get when the snow melts, but after Hurricane Agnes in 72 I can only put up with so many rainy days before I get edgy.

Glad to hear you're both safe and sound and there are no flooded basements or houses.

Minor flooding during Lee, but only to have to re-route roads, no destruction in these parts. Other than that, the weather's been normal. It was beautiful this past weekend.
I wish TX would get the rain they need and help the firemen put out those damn fires.

I feel very sorry for those people.
At the same time, after all the shit Texas republicans have done against health and safety and disaster relief and the rest of America it's ironic that their state is the most fucked up by acts of God.

I wish Perry would just take Texas and secede already, he could be the Dictator of his own country, and we'd never have to get another fucking idiot Texan as President ever again.
