The dishes got the better of me. I'm cleaning the stove, too, as in tearing it apart and scouring each piece. I'm seriously allergic to oven cleaner so I have to do it the hard way. The burners look great and work a whole lot better now. Today I'm doing the broiler.

Pace yourself, don't get too tired out. Open windows if you can for ventilation.

I always open windows when I'm cleaning, doing dishes, doing laundry, sleeping... I love having fresh air blowing through. Monday I'm taking a scouring pad to the oven. Then I'll start on the fridge.

I wish I could get some motivation. This job bullshit is dragging me down, making me feel like I just want to go to sleep until it's over. Really, I'm sick of it. If we didn't need this for our family so much, I'd tell them to stick it.
I'd like it to be 70ish, cloudy but warm not humid air blowing around. That's when the windows are open here. That's perfect cleaning weather to me. Otherwise, if I'm too hot, I don't want to get more sweaty and uncomfortable. If it's too cold, I just want to wear sweatshirts around the house and sleep on the couch.

You need to distract yourself. Maybe get a book or video from the library, something that you can get totally lost in for a little while. I'd suggest going for a walk, but I'm not sure the weather's going to cooperate this summer. I don't get a lot of heavy-duty cleaning done when it's cold, other than the bathrooms and laundry room. The fumes from everything but ammonia bug me. I don't do shit when it's over 85 degrees and humid, it's too hot to sleep so I'm tired anyway, but I feel so yucky from the heat that I don't care about the dirt! ;D If the dirt gets ridiculous I'll grab an ice-cold shower in the middle of the night and clean something then. I have a window of about an hour and a half before I feel hot and yucky again. Can't run the vaccuum at 3am, though. Too noisy.

I can't focus for very long on either books or movies, about 30 minutes or so in I have to walk away. Especially when reading, I'll find myself reading the same paragraph over and over because I don't remember what it said. I'm starting to wonder if some of Matthew's learning issues might be related to that.

I don't know how some people can sit in the same spot and read all day. I think a half-hour at a time is good. Do you crochet? That's a nice so-many-minutes-at-a-time hobby. Or go off into the world of daydreams. I spend a lot of free time designing my dream estate for when I hit the mega lotto. ;D The grounds, the house, the kid's house, the grandkids' houses, the landscaping, the furniture and decorations, all of it. Dance lessons. There are DVDs you can get and learn at home. It's fun exercise and feels like flying. I highly recommend Carolina Shag.

If I had unlimited internet service, I'd be watching all kinds of videos.
I did crochet a million years ago, bored me after a while. Most of what I'd like to be doing is listening to music. I think after Sean leaves, I might get my stereo out, hook it up to my computer, and find a few cassettes to record to my hard drive. I've got some heavy metal music I'd like to listen to again and maybe put on my phone. I just have to find all the cords that I need for it.

Excellent idea! I used to shut off all the lights and listen to tunes in the dark under the . It's a great way to empty out the stress receptors.

It's too bad Matthew was here, I could have blared the music. But with the dogs here, I can't do that anyway.
I recorded Ozzy Osbourne No Rest For The Wicked, WASP Inside The Electric Circus and The Last Command, Scorpions Rockers N Ballads, and Rush Moving Pictures.
Once I do that, it saves the files as wma (it's a Windows program that creates the files), I have to open them with iTunes to convert the files to mp3, then I can add them to my phone.

Sounds time-consuming. But it's definitely worth it in the end. Did you hear that Ozzy's back with Sabbath and they have a new album out? I heard one song, it's pretty good. You can get a pretty great set of fairly cheap. Don't use earbuds, they have shitty sound reproduction.
