Ooooh, that's a nice one! They should bring that one back in larger sizes definitely! I haven't seen a photo of one since around '05.

It's not one that was for sale. I actually had it designed and printed at a local shop when I was living in Hagerstown MD. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it in here. I haven't worn it for a LONG time.

Oh - that's why I haven't seen it in so long! I think the photo was on the Coma board, that must be why I thought it was "official."
It's a great design, DD should use it. It would definitely sell.
I wish the old bashing board would have had the DDMMSSO shirts printed up. ;D

I made it during the DDF board time I was there, duranduranfans.com. I don't know if they still exist, but assholes starting taking over that board too, that's why I left.

No, it died last fall. A lot of the boards are Proboards hosted. I worry any old fans wanting to come back won't be able to find any of us when we switch to Version 5. The phpBB boards' hosts are really bad at controlling spam - every one of them has been wiped out. I got a PM notification in my e-mail for the Iron Maiden (Bruce) board, so I went to read it and saw that there were 50 pages of spam threads in each section of the board! That was last week. The board's closed now. Same thing happened with the previous Andy Taylor board. And a John Taylor board. When the new album comes out next year no one will be able to find any boards!

No way will DD put out an album by next year....three years down the line minimum....remember it took them a whole fucking decade to put out just two albums ....can you blame the record companies for not wanting them?

I saw the newest "Behind The Music" yesterday, they had it the whole way up to AYNIN. They pretty much admitted that Reportage was scrapped by Sony because it sounded too much like their old stuff, which is EXACTLY WHAT THEY NEED TO DO!!! When they talked about RCM, they said the fans didn't like it. No shit Sherlock! So they got a producer in Ronson to make it sound like their OLD stuff, which is what Sony didn't want.
If anyone from Sony reads this, let me make this perfectly clear.....
You wouldn't know talent if it bit you on the ass and called you Mama. Fucking assholes, go ruin someone else's career.

SONY (and other record companies) followed a stupid formula that hasn't worked since the British Invasion - Get rid of anyone that won't toe the line no matter how talented or popular they are. If they hire an attorney that's smart enough to get them a good contract, shelve their albums, release the albums with shitty promotion, buy out their contracts, or refuse to re-sign them when the contracts expire. Saturate the market with the useful idiot "talent" - release as many albums as possible per year, have the "talent" work on others' albums, promote the hell out of them on tv and other media, and cross-promote with popular retail items like pop and Ipods. And yank every truly popular and talented act off Youtube. This shit worked with Pat Boone and Perry Como, but there was only AM radio and 3 tv channels back then - and people weren't very savvy. They knew Timbaland was on his way out, so did he, so they gave him all the work he wanted regardless of what it would do to bands' careers. Timberlake they misjudged. They thought he'd be a huge success, if not as a singer then as an actor. They hadn't counted on people not really being crazy about him. Stupid stupid stupid. People should be forced to take qualifying exams before they're allowed anywhere near a CEO's office. @snd - Easily half of the original board's members ran into major personal crises and left "to take some time off." Only one is back to posting on a DD-related board. A couple have disappeared completely, they aren't posting on Facebook or anywhere else. It's not just the bashers, either. A whole lot of Duranies have vanished. I don't know if some of them are alive, even.

I'm sure they are alive Kling, it's probably that having to listen to the flaming bullshit that happens on a lot of boards makes them NOT want to come back. I never have understood why people allowed it. If I was running a DD board, I know I'd block the troublemakers. It's the same mentality as people who watch those stupid "reality" shows, like what in the fuck is Honey Boo Boo?? Some hillbilly family with a little brat kid acting like they have an IQ of a turnip? That is considered quality TV? I'd rather be on the internet and reading intelligent content. If we didn't need local news and Sean's sports programs, we'd take out the stupid satellite TV.

I got an e-mail pm notice from an Iron Maiden board a couple weeks ago - turns out the pm was spam. Each section had about 50 pages of spam threads. That board is now closed. But I had the time to go through the back pages and read the old posts - it was the metal version of the Coma. Who would be banned? The tards that think Bruce Dickenson is a magician, full of innocence, wise, and even though he's obviously more comfortable in a pub they want to take him on a picnic and have bread, wine , and cheese? (I can't believe I read that drivel again - on purpose! ) Or the trolls - the fans that have been around forever and want to discuss the band realistically, but they've got no choice but to remind the moocows that Brucey is over 50 and not interested in their middle-aged teen drivel. Or the spammers that rarely post in the few functional discussions, opting instead to post endless attention-whoring LOOK AT ME!!! threads. No matter what band it is, you get rid of those three groups and there won't be anyone posting. Although there are individuals within the groups that might need weeding out. Scary Derry Sherry comes to mind. And Netrage.
