Notice they said "contest," not "drawing." Note that the rules of said conrest aren't posted. Why? Because they aren't going to risk randomly choosing one of the nutrolls to win. I have to agree with them on this one. The prizes, though... Did Simon clean and sanitize the earbuds? Why would someone want Nick's bathrobe? Kind of weird. $80/year for a band so far off peak is not a good idea. It doesn't encourage new signups. Here's a link for a pic of the "gold" merch and a list of what's in the "silver" package: www.duranduranmusic.com/?page=join

It's bullshit, and I wouldn't buy it.

There aren't a lot of active members over there, I'm sure DD Inc. is desperate for money to keep the place running, but they're doing it wrong.
They'd do better to offer a"Bronze" membership for $20 that includes VIP presales, full access to the website features, and an "autographed" calendar. They'd get a lot more people in that way. Hell, I'd even consider it.

Instead of getting ideas from fans, they listen to these bullshit people like Katy who managed a HUGE band like Aerosmith. DD is never going to be able to get the size of a fan base they would need to make money on shit like this.

(It was Wendy that managed Aerosmith,) and they aren't as big as they were in the 70s. But the hugest act in the world can't expect to get that kind of money from most fans.
They could get 20 bucks from a dozen fans before they get $80 from one. 240>80. Apparently no one in DD Inc. bothered to learn math in school.

For a long time I thought Katty was part of the management crew, way back when the Coma board was the center of the universe. The first that I heard about Wendy was on one of the little boards that didn't get a lot of traffic. I can't remember which one, I suppose it was The Temple of St. Nick.

Yes, she does. She has a habit of getting burned by thieving promoters, it happened twice last album and it's happened before. The distribution deal with UMG was garbage. And if you're reading this, DD, yes, I can do better. In my house all crippled up, 'luded out on Benadryls. So there.
ETA: Duranietill has excellent office skills. Kiss her ass much and maybe she'll consider helping you out.

I'd love a job I could do from home, clerical, taking calls, sending emails, etc. It would be great, and be paid!!!
